LATE
Common Name Victor Gonzalez's Lepanthes [American a citizen scientist in San Diego, California Current]
Flower Size .36" [9 mm]
Found in Mexico without collection data as a mini-miniature sized, caespitose epiphyte with long, very slender, suberect ramicauls enclosed by a thin tubular sheath below the middle and another at the base and carrying an apical, thinly coriaceous, elliptic leaf that blooms in the late fall on an arching, to .88" [22 mm] long, loose, successively few-flowered inflorescence arising on the back of the leaf and carrying resupinate flowers.
"Lepanthes victorgonzalezii is similar to Lepanthes johnsonii . However, L. victorgonzalezii is easily distinguished by its deeply concave lateral sepals with long sepaline tails that cross over each other. The flowers of this tiny, elegant species resemble tiny ballerinas dancing en pointe." K.W.Holcomb 2024
