Found only in Yunnan province of China and Thailand beside rivers in primary, montane forests at elevations of 680 to 1300 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a short stem enveloped completely by leaf base sheaths carrying oval-elliptic, unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the fall on a pendant to erect, 3.2 to 4" [8 to 10 cm] long, few to several flowered inflorescence
