Found only in Sabah, Borneo in lower montane forests at elevations of 1200 to 1700 meters as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with swollen, roundish, attenuate above pseudobulbs enveloped by green to pale brown, acuminate, sheaths and carrying a ssingle, apical, erect, coriaceous, ensiform, acute, conduplicate below into the base leaf that blooms in the late spring and summer in situ on a terminal, stiffly erect, laxly 12 to 15 flowered, 8" to 15.2" [20 to 38 cm] long, terete, racemose inflorescence with ovate, acute to acuminate floral bracts..
