Found in Sumatra on Mt Kerinci in montane forests at elevations of 1500 to 1700 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing terrestrial with close set pseudobulbs carrying 2 apical, diverging, spatulate, oblong-ovate, obtuse, apiculate, narrowing below into the indistinct petiolate base leaves that blooms on a longer than the leaves, peduncle winged, .88 to 1.4" [2.2 to 3.5 cm] long, rachis angled, 1.4 to 3" [3.5 to 7 cm] long, laxly, many flowered inflorescence with persistent, ovate-triangular, narrowing apically, acute floral bracts and carrying light yellowish green to orange to brown flowers that face in all directions.

J J Smith commented that this species is quite distinct from others by the rounded auricles at the base of the lip and the usual basal callus replaced with a transverse bar similar to the transverse lamella typical in the genus Agrostophyllum.
