Found in the Mentawai Islands of Sumatra as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with close set, flattened, narrowly ovate-oblong, truncate, elliptic in cross-section pseudobulbs carrying narrowly lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms in the winter and early spring on a brownish, 6 to 8" [15 to 20 cm] long, fairly dense, many flowered inflorescence carrying flowers that have a fishy scent.
