Common Name The Thick Base Liparis [refers to the base of the inflorescence]

Flower Size .53" [1.3 cm] long

Found in Sumatra at elevations around 1280 to 2500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a subterranean rhizome giving rise to laterally flattened, ovate-oblong, at an acute angle to the rhizome pseudobulbs carrying 2, ovate, shortly acuminate,acute and apiculate, wavy margins, rounded below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect, terminal, peduncle angular, 1.6" [4 cm] long, rachis winged, .8" [2 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with spreading, subulate, floral bracts.
