Found in Sabah Borneo in hill primary and lower montane forests at elevations of 800 to 1600 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome giving rise to erect, bottle-shaped,green to yellow green, basally compressed, ovoid-conical, apical part, compressed, cylindrical, one margin sharp-edged, the other with 2 sharp edged wings pseudobulbs enveloped basally by 3 to 6 persistent, conduplicate, acute bracts and carrying a basally jointed, erect, proximal part conduplicate, distally flattening and broadening, narrowly elliptic to narrowly obovate, green, obtuse leaf that blooms in the late spring through mid winter on an erect to arching, shorter than the leaf, peduncle 2.4 to .7.2" [6 to 18 cm] long, broadening before the rachis, flattened and conspicuously 2 winged, green, rachis bifarious, compresssed, 1.28 to 2.6" [3.2 to 6.5 cm] long, successively 2 to 60 flowered inflorescence with crowded conduplicate, triangular, acute, shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
