Found in northern and eastern Madagascar in tropical humid forsts at elevations around 800 meters as a miniature sized, warm growing terrestrial with 2 elongated, others becoming oblique, nearly flat, at angles to one another, the newer carrying 2 to 3, elliptic, shortly acuminate, plicate, attenuate below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late spring on an erect, terminal, peduncle with several sterile, oval-lanceolate, acuminate bracts, loosely 5 to 8 flowered inflorescence carrying yellowish flowers
