Found in Zaire, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe in mist forests, riverine forests and in marshy ground in leaf molds at elevations around 1000 to 1150 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing terrestrial with a shallowly buried rhizome giving rise to erect, green, fleshy, cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying 2 to 3 large, membraneous, deep green, cordate, with entire, sometimes crisped margins, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late spring on an erect, shorter to equal to the length of the leaves, subumbellate, 3 to 8 flowered inflorescence
