Found in Taiwan in laurel forests at elevations of 900 to 1500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with approximate, globose, somewhat obliquely complanate pseuedobulbs with broadly ovate, acuminate basal sheaths and carrying a single, erect, oblanceolate-linear, slightly leathery, acute, long-decurrent basally leaf that blooms in the fall on an angular, to 4" [10 cm] long, laxly 10 to 15 flowered inflorescence with linear, acute to acuminate apically floral bracts.
Often cited as a synonym of L cespitosa but differs in the bigger pseudobulbs, longer, pleated leaves and differences in the sepals and lip.
