Common Name Layard's Liparis

Found in the Solomon Islands, New Caledonia, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu and the Wallis islands in dense rainforests at elevations of 530 to 2200 meters as a small sized, warm to cold growing terrestrial with clustered, cylindrical pseudobulbs sheathed by cataphyls and carrying 2 to 4, ovate, acute, glossy, midgreen, above, paler beneath leaves that blooms in the fall on a purple, 7.2 to 12" [18 to 30 cm] long, few to several flowered inflorescence
