Found in Queensland Australia at elevations of 600 to 1400 meters in rainforests on trees and rocks as a small to medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte or lithophyte with laterally compressed, and overlapping, dark green to yellowish green psuedobulbs enveloped in youth by 2 short leaf like bracts and carrying 2 to 4m thin, dark green to yellowish green leaves that blooms in the spring through early summer on an erect, to arching, 6 to 10" [15 to 25 cm] long, 13 to 17 flowered inflorescence with unpleasant scented flowers.
