Found in Madagascar in humid, lichen rich evergreen forests at elevations of 700 to 2000 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with 2 pseudobulbs, the oldest obliquely diverging and the younger enveloped by 3 to 4, elliptical to oval elliptical, obtus to apiculate, compressed and rounded basally, gradually narrowing below into the clasping, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer and earlier fall on an erect, to 6" [to 15 cm] long, 6 to 12 flowered inflorescence
