Found in Yunnan and Guangxi provinces of China in mixed deciduous forests on steep slopes in shady and damp areas with small ravines, in wet to moist soils and humus, at elevations around 800 meters as a small sized, warm growing terrestrial with up to 5, spreading, lanceolate plicate, light green, narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter and spring on an erect, terminal, 9.6 to 13.2" [24 to 33 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with s ovate-triangular, carinate on the abaxial surface, dark purple, much shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
