Found in Madagascar, Mauritius, Comoros and Reunion in humid evergreen forests at elevations of 400 to 1600 meters as a miniature sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with a reddish to violet stem carrying 2, basal, cordate, crenulate, obtuse leaves that blooms in the summer through mid fall on a terminal, erect, short, subcorymbose inflorescence with purple violet flowers
