Found in central to northwestern Madagascar in humid forests at elevations of 100 to 975 meters as a small to medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with close set, slender, cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, linear, acute leaves that blooms in the late summer, fall and winter on a terminal, erect, peduncle to 4" [10 cm] long, provided with a several, lanceolate, acuminate bracts, rachis 4 to 6" [10 to 15 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
