Found in Tanzania as a forest epiphyte or among tufts of grass in swamps at elevations of 1200 to 1800 meters as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial or epiphyte with basally swollen, subglobose pseudobulbs carrying 2, submembraneous, bright green, erect, ovate to oblong-ligualte, acute, narrowing below into the sheathing base leaves that blooms in the late summer and early fall on a suberect, terminal, to 8" [20 cm] long, laxly 2 to 8 flowered inflorescence.
