Common Name Swenson's Liparis [First Australian collector of species late 1800's early 1900's] - In Australia The Northern Tom Cats

Found in Queensland and New South Wales Australia as a small sized, cool to cold growing terestrial or lithophytic orchid on rocks in exposed locations at elevations of 200 to 1300 meters with ovoid pseudobulbs carrying 1 or 2, narrowly elliptic, acute, basally clasping leaves and blooms on a terminal, erect, racemose, 8" [20 cm] long, several to many [10 to 30] flowered inflorescence arising in the fall and winter in Australia and has an unpleasant odor akin to urine.
