Found in Sumatra, Java, north Borneo and Sulawesi in montane forests in leaf litter at elevations of 900 to 1300 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with pseudobulbs carrying 2 apical, plicate, leaves that blooms mostly in the spring on an erect, zigzag, 12" [30 cm] long, successively few to 15 flowered inflorescence carrying well spaced flowers
Similar to L viridicaulis and often given as a synonym but differs in the squarer lip and the bright center stripe of the lip.
