Found in Assam at elevations around 900 to 1100 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with conical-ovoid pseudobulbs enveloped by triangular, acute, imbricating sheaths in youth and carrying a single apical, thinly coriaceous, plicate, 9 nerved, elliptic-lanceolate leaf that blooms in the late summer and fall on an erect, robust, 4 to 5" [10 to 12.5 cm] long, few to several flowered inflorescence
