Found in northwestern Sichuan province of China in forests at elevations of 3000 to 3900 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial orchid with a cylindric, slender stem with a sheath near the base and carrying 2, opposite, borne above the middle of the stem, subsessile, unequal in size, narrowly ovate, apically acute, basally rounded leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a pubescent, .8 to 1" [2 to 2.5 cm] long, 1 to 3 flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, shorter than the pedicel, acute floral bracts.
