Found in Huanuco department of Peru in wet montane forests at elevations of 780 to 950 meters as a medium to large sized, warm growing epiphyte with elongate, laterally compressed stems enveloped completely by imbricating, equitant, triangular, acute leaves that blooms in the spring on 3 to 4, axillary, below the stem apex, racemose to paniculate, short to .8" [2 cm], 2 to 4 flowered inflorescnece with amplexicaul, infundibulbiform, acute floral bracts
