Found in Peru and Ecuador at elevations of 20 to 1800 meters in wet montane forests as a medium sized, caespitose, epiphytic species that has a woven belt shape with a upright to spreading stem completely enveloped by distichous, imbricating, basally clasping, entirely conduplicate, ovate, triangular to olique-triangular leaves that can bloom in the winter, summer and fall with a two to three flowered, 3/4" [2 cm] long, racemose, or 3 to 6 flowered panicle arising from near the apex of the imbricating leaf axils.
