Found in the Chinese Himalayas, Assam, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam at elevations of 700 to 1100 meters as a small to medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with an erect stem carrying cylindrical leaves that blooms in the spring on very short, 1 or 2 flowered inflorescence
