Laelia x oweniae L. Linden 1892

TYPE Drawing by Lucien Linden

What has been sold commercially as L x oweniae

"Here is a picture of a Laelia x oweniae, a naturally occuring hybrid. Carl Withner says that this is a cross between L. perrinii and an unknown Laelia. My guess is that it is L. lundii. Both lundii and perrinii overlap in distribution at exactly the place that oweniae is found. Plus, the patterning on the lip is reminiscent of lundii, but more importantly is the oweniae plant growth habit, as it looks like lundii (scrambling, less than 12" tall) and has two leaves like lundii."
