Common Name Mathias' Sudamerlycaste [American Botanist 20th cen]

Found rarely in Peru around elevations of 1400 to 1500 meters with ovoid, clustered, slghtly laterally compressed, rugose with age pseudobulbs carrying 2 to 3, plicate, elongate, narrowly oblong-elliptic, acuminate, narrowly subpetiolate base leaves that blooms on 1 to 3, lateral, terete, elongate, erect to arcuately ascending, 9.6" [24 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence and is assumed to be a natural hybrid between I locusta and L macrophylla.
