Found in Costa Rica and Panama at elevations af sea level to 650 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with a fan of leaves around a compressed, obovoid-ellipsoid pseudobulb enveloped basally by leaf bearing sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, equitant, sessile, linear-lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, acute to acuminate leaf that blooms in the late summer and early fall on a simple, sub-umbellate, racemose to paniculate, peduncle 1.8 to 2.4" [4.5 to 6 cm] long, provided with several, triangular, infundibuliform bracts, each sub-umbellate branch carrying 5 to 6 flowers, several flowered inflorescence with scarious, lanceolate, acute to acuminate floral bracts.
