Found in Costa Rica at elevations of 800 to 1600 meters as a mini-miniature sized, pendant, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a fan of leaves around a inconspicuous elliptic-obovate pseudobulb enveloped basally by 3 to 5 leaf bearing sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, conduplicate, compressed, lanceolate to narrowly elliptic-lanceolate, acute leaves articulate to the imbricate leafbearing sheaths that blooms in the late spring through summer on a simple, sub-umbellate, racemose to paniculate, each successive sub-umbellate branch carrying 5 to 6 flowers, provided with a long, triangular acute, nearly basal bract, to 1.4" [to 4 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence with triangular, acuminate, shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.
