Found in Bangladesh, Assam, Nepal southern and western Yunnan Province of China, the Andaman Islands, Myanmar, Laos and Thailand in forests at elevations of 1300 to 2500 meters as a miniature sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a fleshy, several noded, cylindric stem carrying 3, ovate, oblong-ovate to subelliptic, acuminate apically, contracted below into the amplexicaul, sheathlike, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late spring on a terminal, erect, 9.6 to 12" [22 to 30 cm] long, wingless, 20 to 30 flowered inflorescence with reflexed, narrowly lanceolate, floral bracts
