Found in Queensland Australia at elevations of 250 to 450 meters on shady slopes among rocks in rainforests usually near watercourses as a miniature to small sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with a reclining stem giving rise to 4 to 15, scattered, dark green, shiny, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, 6 to 10" [15 to 25 cm] long, purple, bracteate, many flowered inflorescence
