Found in Java and Sulawesi in fairly open areas in hill forests at elevations of 400 to 1200 meters as a miniature sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with close set, basally thickened stems carrying 3 to 5, plicate, undulate margined, oblique leaves that blooms in the summer on a terminal, to 17.2" to [43 cm] long, many flowered, apically nodding inflorescence
