Common Name Lyonett's Malaxis

Flower Size .2" [5 mm] long

Found in Morelos state of Mexico as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial with subterranean, subglobose, white pseudobulbs giving rise to an erect stem carrying 2, basal, very delicate, ovate-cordiform, acute to obtuse apically leaf blooms in the later summer on an erect, peduncle to 4" [10 cm] long, rachis .66" [1.6 cm] long, corymbose, many flowered inflorescence carrying non-resupinate, green flowers.

This species occured in an area that is now completely urbanly developped and may be extinct.
