Found in Solomon Islands, Northwestern Territories and Queensland Australia at elevations of 5 to 500 meters in shady locations in monsoonal and littoral rainforests as a miniature sized, hot growing terrestrial with an erect or reclining stem giving rise to 4 to 6, light green, shiny, waxy, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer and early fall on an erect, 6 to 10" [15 to 25 cm] long, purple, bracteate, many flowered inflorescence
