Common Name The Sparse Blooming Malaxis

Found in New Guinea in colonies in shady places at elevations around 900 to 1000 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with a very short rhizome giving rise to terete, glabrous, short stems carrying 3 to 5, erect-patent, obliquely lanceolate, to rarely ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter on an erect, thin, terete, glabrous, 2.2" [5.5 cm] long, secund, laxly 3 to 8 flowered inflorescence with patula to deflexed, lanceolate, acute, longer than the ovary floral bracts.
