Found in the Bismark Islands, the Solomon Islands, Samoa, Vanuatu and the Cook Islands in foothills to montane forests at elevations of 400 to 500 meters as a small sized, hot growing terrestrial with a creeping rhizome giving rise to an elongate, erect, leafy all along the stem carrying up to 12, distichous, twisted basaly to lie in one plane, ovate, acute, petiolate base leaves that blooms on an erect, 12" [30 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with reflexed, linear, acuminate floral bracts.
