Common Name or Meaning The Thai Malaxis

Flower Size .4" [1 cm]

Found in Northern Thailand as a miniature to small sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial at elevations of 750 to 1900 meters with an erect stem carrying a few elliptic, acute, gradually narrowing below into the basal clasping, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, 6" [15 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence. This species was photographed in June of 2001. Cited as a synonym of Malaxis acuminata and although there are many similarities I am keeping them separate at this time.
