Common Name The Slamat Malaxis [A part of western Java]

Found in Sumatra and Java in montane forests at elevations of 800 to 1100 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with a short, creeping, fleshy rhizome giving rise to an erect, short pseudobulb carrying 5 to 7 close set, obliquely lanceolate, acuminate, acute, somewhat undulate margin, pale green, narrowing into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, terminal, peduncle angular, .8 to 1.4" [2 to 4 cm] long, 3.4 to 7.6" [8.5 to 19 cm] long, cylindrical, densely many flowered inflorescence with linear-lanceolate floral bracts.
