Found in northern Thailand and southern Yunnan Province of China at elevations around 1550 meters as a small sized,cool growing terrestrial with a short, pseudobulbous stem carrying 2 to 4 leaves that blooms in the later spring and early summer on an erect, terminal, few to several flowered inflorescence.
CAUTION!!!!Very similar to and sometimes given as a synonym of M ovalisepala but this one has a short pseudobulbous stem and M ovalisepala has a creeping rhizome giving rise to an elongating ascending stem.
