Common Name The Pretty Cup Masdevallia [refers to the sepaline cup]

Flower Size 3/4" [2 cm]

Found only in Morona-Santiago province of Ecuador at elevations around 1400 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with slender, erect, ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter and spring on a erect, slender, 2.8" [7 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul.
