Common Name The Long-Sepaled Masdevallia

Flower Size 3 1/2" [9 cm]

Found in Costa Rica in montane rainforests at elevations of 200 to 2000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with erect stems covered by 2 to 3 tubular bracts with a single, apical, coriaceous, narrowly obovate leaf that blooms on an erect to arching, 3" to 4 3/4" [7 to 12 cm] long, few flowered inflorescence arising on a mature stem with the single successive flower held above the leaves and occuring in the summer.
