"Within the M bicolor complex but distinguished by 2 simultaneous flowers in a congested few flowered raceme, The triquetrous peduncle is taller and more slender than M bicolor. The thin transluscent sepals are yellow green, and the laterals are connate into a proportionally broader synsepal that are variously suffussed with rose but sometimes the sepals are yellow and purple as in M bicolor. The petals and lip are simiar in both species." Luer 2000
