Common Name The Elegant Masdevallia

Flower Size 4" [10 cm]

Found in Peru at elevations around 3000 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with blackish, slender, erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptic, obtuse to rounded, gradually narrows below into the cuneate, petiolate base leaf that blooms on an erect, slender, single flowered, 4" [10 cm] long, inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a bract near the base and a tubular floral bract
