Common Name The Lovely Masdevallia
Flower Size 1.4" [3.5 cm]
Found in Ecuador at elevations of 1500 to 1800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with slender, erect, blackish ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, obtuse to rounded, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a slender, erect, 1 to 1.2" [2.5 to 2.8 cm] single flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a bract above the base and a tubular floral bract.
