Common Name Ligia's Masdevallia [Mrs Posada Colombian Orchid Nurserywoman current]

Found in Colombia as a natural hybrid between M venticularia and another unidentified species without specific locality as a mini-miniature sized epiphyte with blackish, slender, erect, ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3, loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, obtuse, narrowly cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a slender, suberect then horizontal, 2.8 to 3.2" [7 to 8 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a bract near the base
This species is a volunteer hybrid occuring in greenhouses in Ecuador.
