Common Name Nora's Masdevallia [Refers to Elinor Dunsterville mid to late 1900's]

Found in Amazonas department of Colombia, Bolivar state of Venezuela and possibly in northwestern Brazil in lowland to lower montane forests at elevations of 200 to 1000 meters as a miniature sized, caespitose, hot to warm epiphyte in lowland forests with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3 close, tubular sheaths carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute leaf that is narrowly cuneate below into the petiole that blooms in the winter on an erect, arising from low on the ramicaul, with a basal bract, congested, successively several flowered, 5" [12.5 cm] long, long lasting, successively single, several flowered inflorescence with imbricating, tubular, as long as the pedicel floral bracts holding the single flower at leaf height.
"Similar to M cuprea and M weberbaueri but is distinguishjed by the nearly glabrous, larger, olive green flowers difusely dotted with purple within giving the flowers a pinkish color, aproportionally short sepaline tube and a proportionally langer tail of the dorsal sepal." Luer 2000
