Flower Size .8" [2 cm]

Found in San Martin department of Peru at elevations of 1000 to 1400 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, acute to subacute, cuneate below into the elongate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a slender, erect, 3.6" [9 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with a bract near the base, arising from low on the ramicaul and has a tubular floral bract.

Similar to M ampullacea but differs in the longer, erect inflorescence carrying the flowers above the leaves, the longer sepaline tubes of the flower, the shorter free portion of the sepaline tails, the microscopic pubescence within the tube and the margins of the lip have only indistinct, short, rounded lobes above the middle.
