Common Name or Meaning The Freckled Masdevallia

Flower Size 1/4" [6mm]

Found in Bolivia in moist forests at elevations around 2250 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with slender, erect, blackish ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute leaf that is cuneate below into the long, slender, blackish petiole that blooms in the summer and fall on a slender, erect, 2/5" to 5/8" [10 to 15 mm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising from near the base of the ramicaul, with a bract near the base and a tubular floral bract.
