Common Name or Meaning The Capped Masdevallia [refers to the appearance of the dorsal sepal]

Found in north central Colombia without locality as a mini-miniature sized epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptical, acute leaf that is gradually narrowing below into the slender petiole and blooms in the summer on an erect, slender, 3 3/4" to 4" [9 to 10 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a bract above the base and a tubublar floral bract.
