Common Name The Broad Lipped Masdevallia

Flower Size .8" [2 cm]

Found in Colombia and Ecuador at elevations around 1300 to 2500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with erect, blackish, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 loose sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptic, subacute, narrowly cuneate below into the slender, blackish, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter and spring on a descending, slender basally thicker above, .8 to 3.2" [2 to 8 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul.
