Found in Zamora-Chinchipe province of Ecuador without locality as a mini-miniature sized, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 thin, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptical, subacute, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter on an erect, arising from low on the ramicaul with a bract near the base, stout, triquetrous, congested, abbreviated, successively single few flowered inflorescence with a thin, tubular, as long to longer than the pedicel floral bract.

"Characterized by a stout peduncle that exceeds the leaf. The flowers are produced successively in a very short, congested raceme with the pedicel no longer than the floral bract. Although the flower superficially resembles M bicolor the sepals are rigid and deeply connate into an obovoid flower. The tails of the lateral sepals are short, thick and directed forward. The petals are narrowly ovate and the lip is trilobulate at the apex." Luer 2005
